FieldJot Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 15, 2026 · Last updated: August 20, 2026

FieldJot is built so that your reports leave your phone only when you send them yourself. In plain terms: no CMMM account, no tracking, and nothing uploaded to us.

Who this policy covers

FieldJot (FieldJot: Daily Site Reports, Android package com.cmmmstudios.sitelog) is developed and published by CMMM Studios, a product studio based in Los Angeles, California.

This policy describes how the FieldJot Android app handles information. It does not describe the CMMM Studios website — see Visiting our website below for that.

What FieldJot collects

FieldJot does not collect or share user data with CMMM Studios or anyone else. Specifically, the app does not collect or transmit:

  • Personal information such as your name, email, or phone number
  • Your reports, photos, or captions
  • Usage data, event logs, or crash analytics
  • Advertising identifiers or device identifiers
  • Location data

The FieldJot Android app requires no CMMM account, has no CMMM backend for user content, and contains no ads or analytics or tracking SDKs. FieldJot does not upload your reports or photos to CMMM.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in FieldJot is written to the app's private local storage on your device:

  • Daily reports, including project, client, site address, date, crew, weather, work performed, materials, delays and issues, and safety notes
  • Photos you capture or select, along with captions and ordering
  • Your business contact details
  • App settings and PDF presentation preferences

This data is readable by the FieldJot app only. It is not readable by other apps on your device, and it is never sent to us.

Camera and photos

FieldJot can attach photos to a report in two ways. It can launch your device camera to take a new picture, and it can open Android's system photo picker so you can choose images you already have.

The system photo picker hands the app only the specific images you select. FieldJot does not request broad photo-library or external storage access, so it cannot read your gallery on its own.

Network use

Core reporting works offline — write the report, add photos, and export the PDF without a connection. Losing signal on site does not stop you documenting the day.

The FieldJot Android app requires no CMMM account, has no CMMM backend for user content, and contains no ads or analytics or tracking SDKs. FieldJot does not upload your reports or photos to CMMM.

You will still need a connection to download or update the app from Google Play, and possibly to send a finished PDF using a different app such as email or messaging. Those are the other app's connections, made when you choose to use them. Google Play connectivity may also be used for purchase and entitlement operations — verifying the purchase you made through Google Play — which is handled by Google Play's own services under Google's privacy policy. None of this ever carries your reports or photos.

PDF export

When you export a report, FieldJot generates a PDF and hands it to you to send. Nothing is shared until you choose a destination.

Once you send a PDF to another app or service — email, messaging, cloud storage, or anything else — that copy is governed by the privacy practices of the app or service you sent it to, not by this policy. Please consider what a report contains before sending it, particularly client details and identifiable jobsite imagery.

Backups and moving devices

FieldJot's Transfer & Backup creates a single backup file — reports, photos, markup, and settings — that the app hands to you. Where that file goes is your choice: it is not uploaded to CMMM, and there is no CMMM cloud backup. The same applies when you move your workspace directly to another device — the transfer happens between your devices, using the sharing mechanism you pick.

Backup files are not encrypted by FieldJot, so store them somewhere you trust, and remember that a copy you place in someone else's storage service is governed by that service's privacy practices, not this policy.

Deleting your data

You can delete an individual report inside the app at any time. To remove everything, clear the app's data from Android Settings or uninstall FieldJot — either removes its private local storage from your device.

Export and save the PDFs you need to keep before you uninstall the app, clear its data, reset the device, or replace the phone. If the device is lost or wiped, CMMM Studios cannot recover your reports, because we never had them.

PDFs you have already exported and saved or sent elsewhere are outside the app. Deleting those copies is up to you and the service holding them.

Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and no deletion request to submit.

Security

FieldJot stores its data in the app's private storage area, which Android protects from other applications through the operating system's app sandbox. Keeping your reports on the device, and out of any CMMM backend, removes whole categories of risk.

No security measure is absolute. Device-level protection still matters: a rooted, compromised, or unlocked-and-unattended phone can expose app data, so we encourage a screen lock and current Android security updates. We do not claim FieldJot's storage is impenetrable.

Children

FieldJot is a business and productivity tool intended for contractors and field-service professionals. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them — indeed, the app does not collect information from any user.

Visiting our website

This policy covers the FieldJot app. The website you are reading it on is separate, and it is not as data-free as the app — we would rather say so plainly.

When you visit cmmmstudios.com:

  • Server logs. Our web server records ordinary request logs, which include your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string.
  • Forms. If you submit the contact form — or the FieldJot launch-updates form, while that was open before the app was published — the name, email, and any message you type are stored in our lead database and emailed to us so we can reply. We use those details to respond to you, and we do not sell them or add you to a newsletter unless you separately opt in.
  • Spam protection. Those forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated submissions. Turnstile is provided by Cloudflare and processes limited technical data to decide whether a submission looks automated.
  • Analytics on the website only. This website uses a self-hosted, cookieless analytics package running on our own server, to see which pages are useful. It records the page, the referring link, browser and device type, and country. It sets no cookies, stores no IP address, cannot follow you to other sites, and shares nothing with any third party. There is no advertising pixel and no third-party tracking script.

None of this happens inside the app

The section above describes cmmmstudios.com, the website. It does not describe the app. The FieldJot Android app requires no CMMM account, has no CMMM backend for user content, and contains no ads or analytics or tracking SDKs. FieldJot does not upload your reports or photos to CMMM. That holds whatever the website does.

To have a form submission removed from our records, email hello@cmmmstudios.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If FieldJot's behavior changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and move the “last updated” date above. The current version always lives at cmmmstudios.com/fieldjot/privacy.
