Real people read this inbox. Tell us what happened and we'll help you sort it out.
We reply as soon as we can, usually within two business days.
Getting started
- Start a report. Enter the project, client, site address, and date, then fill in the day: crew, weather, work performed, materials, delays or issues, and safety notes.
- Add photos. Take them with the camera or bring them in with Android's photo picker. Add a caption to each and drag them into the order you want them to appear.
- Mark it complete. Leave a report as a draft while you're still working, then mark it complete when it's final.
- Export and send. Generate the professional PDF and send it to whoever needs it.
You can also duplicate a report to start from yesterday's details, and search across reports, projects, and clients to find an older one.
Troubleshooting
The camera closes or returns without a photo
Try again first. If it keeps happening, confirm your camera app can take a normal picture on its own, check that the device has free storage, then restart FieldJot. If it still repeats, email us the device model and Android version.
The photo picker doesn't show the images I expect
FieldJot uses Android's system photo picker, which shows the images you grant it and hands the app only what you select. If something is missing, check that the file is in a location the picker browses, and that it finished syncing if it came from a cloud gallery.
A large report takes a long time to export
Close other running apps, keep FieldJot open and in the foreground while it works, and make sure there's free storage on the device. Your device's memory and storage set the practical ceiling — very large reports take longer to render.
Sending the PDF doesn't work
The app you pass the file to needs to be installed and able to accept a PDF. Sending by email or messaging also needs a connection — FieldJot reporting works offline, but the app you pass the file to may not.
I can't find a report after uninstalling
Uninstalling removes FieldJot's private local data from the device, and it cannot be recovered — not by reinstalling, and not by us. We never receive your reports, so there is no copy on our side. Any PDFs you exported and saved elsewhere before uninstalling are unaffected.
FieldJot works with no signal — is that expected?
Yes. Core reporting works offline — write the report, add photos, and export the PDF without a connection. Losing signal changes nothing about creating reports or exporting PDFs — you only need a connection for the app you hand the finished PDF to.
Deleting your reports
- One report: delete it from within FieldJot.
- Everything: Android Settings → Apps → FieldJot → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app.
- Exported PDFs: those live wherever you saved or sent them, so delete them there.
There is nothing to delete on our servers — see the privacy policy.
What to include when you email us
The more of this you can give us, the faster we can help:
- Your FieldJot app version (currently 1.2.0)
- Your Android version
- Your device make and model
- What you were doing when it went wrong
- The exact text of any error message
